Beacon Bistro Petoskey

Really great little bistro. beautiful break from the resort food options and we have in the grunde the whole place for us. They even have a not advertised child menu that was a hit. would definitely come back!

Overall it was quite disappointing. it is probably a personal problem, but everything was very slow. we sat 20 minutes late (the entry is small so it doesn't really wait anywhere). the bar was led by two “Kids” who repeatedly ask how to do what is good, but I wouldn’t really get a cocktail here! they were from several menu items that were disappointing. Overall, eating was good, although the ribeye was for medium-sized (dark red, cold mitte – more like what they want with seered tuna). they were happy to put it on the grill again as soon as we brought it to their attention. we will not be back – for $450 (6 people) it left much to wish.

The restaurant must have some problems because they were from a series of things and were dessert to only one. we asked the server what's going on, and he said he didn't know it, but he suffered just like we did. that's not a big answer. hanger steak and walleye were both great, but the pleasure was hard as a rock. the dessert was bought with fake whipped cream. the bar was empty and only a few tables filled on a Friday night.

I made this reservation because I wanted to eat at around 9:15 and they were the only restaurant that had a table available at that time. After driving to the restaurant I find that it is closed. Won’t fool me twice…
