The reviews are LEGIT!!! Can you please come to CA?! Just had the meaty delish pastrami sandwich and it was beyond delish!!! Chunky meaty, saucy and cheesy! I'm so glad I found this at the Reading market. Half a sandwich is pretty satisfying. Service is super fast and cordial. Kind of wondering if I can take this with me to the airport?!

Hershel's East Side Deli is our go-to spot whenever we pass through Philadelphia and visit Reading Terminal Market. We absolutely love their corned beef sandwich--it's always perfectly prepared and packed with flavor. We also always get an extra side of coleslaw, and it's so worth it! For anyone driving, make sure to park at the Convention Center parking at 1100 Arch St. If you spend $10 or more at any Reading Terminal Market merchant and get your ticket validated, you can park for up to 2 hours for just $4. Such a great deal!

God Bless their lean pastrami sandwiches. You will find no better, anywhere, ever. (Always with rye and always ask for lean!! . The guys behind the counter are a diverse bunch who seem to love working at Hershel's and enjoy hand slicing the brisket. I've willed myself to try some of the other options or any of the other food places at Reading Terminal but never have the desire to stray Thank me later. I love you Mr. Hershel.

Truly the best pastrami sandwich I've ever had (better than Katz in NY). I love that they toast the bread, panini style. The pastrami itself is soooo juicy and flavorful. Def a must get when you're in Philly. I'll dream about this sandwich!

Amazing pastrami. Worth the line. Or look around the corner if there's any seats at the counter and they will serve you right away if you're eating it there.
