DJ Kitchen has some of the best food I've ever eaten. I constantly crave their cold sesame noodles and their pork soup dumplings. Their menu is huge, but if you go with a big party, be prepared to pass around a single iPad for everyone to order. This can really slow things down. However, the staff is kind and courteous and the restaurant is clean, if half finished. I will definitely eat here again! Parking: The restaurant faces City Avenue, but there is plenty of parking in the Target parking garage.
3 stars is me being generous. I think the food here has gone downhill. I ordered from DJ’s a few years ago and it was much better. This time, I ordered with the kids in mind. The lo mein was weirdly gummy and lacked flavor. The fried rice was decent. The har gow were perfect. The spring rolls were the tiniest I’ve ever seen in my life. The crab Rangoon was SWEET and tasted just like it had been made with strawberry cream cheese. So strange. If I ever give them another chance, it’ll be for something spicy!
I lived in Chengdu, Sichuan Province for over two years and the food here is authentic. What is NOT authentic is that the entrees do not come with rice?! I ordered mapo tofu and dry cabbage and I was shocked no rice. In Chengdu these kind of dishes are accompanied by a literal bucket of white rice. Honestly, $16 each for tofu and cabbage dishes is overpriced even for the authenticity. Meal type: Dinner
