I had afternoon tea with my husband here for my birthday and they knocked the experience OUT OF THE PARK!! From the moment I walked in the door, it felt like being in paradise. Elegantly decorated, a beautiful woman playing the harp in the tea room, impeccable service, and beautiful and delicious savories and sweets. They made my special day so incredibly special!! If you're a fan of afternoon tea, DEFINITELY make yourself a reservation!! Also, try the butterfly pea flower tea!! It's delicious and it's blue!!

My wife and I recently enjoyed one of our first dates since welcoming our daughter at the Mary Cassatt Tea Room Garden this past weekend. As a lover of Afternoon Tea, my wife has always dreamed of experiencing the service at The Rittenhouse, and AJ Memmo, the Tea Manager, and his team truly exceeded our expectations. From my first conversation with AJ when I made the reservation to our second chat when I needed to reschedule, and finally discussing all things tea during our visit, we were incredibly impressed. The Rittenhouse is fortunate to have someone as passionate, welcoming, and dedicated as AJ on their team. This upscale restaurant in Philadelphia boasts a charming Parisian atmosphere. It's on the pricier side, with afternoon tea starting at $70 per person. Located in the lobby of the Rittenhouse Hotel, the space is bright and airy. The service was excellent; our server was attentive and friendly. The selection of teas was impressive—complex and fragrant. While the food was enjoyable, it didn't quite reach greatness. However, I generally find afternoon tea fare to be underwhelming, so this experience was above average for high tea. The scones were delightful, and the desserts were both interesting and delicately crafted. The sandwiches were just okay, and I would have appreciated a wider variety of options.

I had a fantastic afternoon tea a few weeks ago to celebrate my birthday. The venue was smaller than I expected, and I wasn't aware that it was located inside the Rittenhouse Hotel until I arrived. However, this turned out to be a great choice because the service was excellent, and the ambiance was lovely. My boyfriend and I ordered one signature tea and added an extra teapot on the side. I found the herbal tea to be even more enjoyable than the regular tea—it was incredible! Every savory and sweet item we tried was delicious. I can't wait to return!

The staff here is beautiful, friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. The tea was exceptional, and all the sandwiches and pastries were both beautiful and delicious. The harpist played wonderfully, enhancing the perfect tea experience. Plus, they offer gluten-free and vegetarian options for everything!
