Cherry Street Tavern - Philadelphia

THE ROAST BEEF SANDWICH! I currently live in Colorado, but I still fly to Philadelphia just to enjoy this sandwich. It's that delicious. The staff is friendly, and the nostalgic atmosphere is something you just can't find nowadays. Sit at the bar, enjoy a pint or two while you eat. Keep up the great work, Cherry Street!

The woman behind the bar was extremely rude to my friends and me. She essentially called us stupid and laughed at us when we tried to order drinks that weren't beer. This is likely the worst bar in the entire city, and I wouldn't recommend anyone come here for any reason. I ended up crying myself to sleep over the experience.

We were in the area today and decided to stop by for lunch. The exterior of this place is quite unremarkable, but the interior is nicely designed, giving off a charming old-school neighborhood tavern vibe. The bartender, who might also be the owner, was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. We ordered the roast beef sandwiches, which were thinly sliced and served on a nice bun; they were very tender and flavorful. It came with a bowl of diced horseradish, just as it should. When I settled the bill, the warm proprietor called me by name, which made the experience even more personal.

I lived across the street for several years. Everyone at this place is just good people. I?ve never once felt out of place and their roast beef and roast pork sandwiches are killer.

I came here for the first time tonight, the staff was incredibly kind and the food was incredible. The menu is super simple and written on a board. My friends and I came after sips so we just got food to help us sober up but we will be back for drinks again soon as well as to try even more of the menu. It?s a very old school place but quite possibly going to be come a longtime favorite.
