City Winery Philadelphia

I had a party of thats was meeting me for dinner. When one of my guest arrived she sat at the bar and didn’t receive any type of acknowledgement from bar tender, but noticed a couple that sat down after her was immediately greeted and given menus. We were all seated and our waiter (Kush) came over and took our drink menu, but it took over a half an hour before he returned to bring them to us. He forgot some of my party wine samples and it also took for me to go up to another waiter for one our drinks that has been sitting on the counter to be brought to our table. His table presence sucked the whole night. We literally sat down at our table at no later and did not receive our food until after This was so embarrassing beings though I invited people there to celebrate my birthday. It was so bad that we had to speak with a manager to get our food out and to get some sort of acknowledgement. Not sure as to what the issue was with our server, but he was helping a nearby table that say down after us and got their food way before us. The manager did take care of us significantly once she was made aware of what was going on, but the whole experience put a bad taste on my mouth. After we finished our meal our waiter came to apologize for ruining my birthday dinner, but I felt the only reason he apologized was because we still tipped him despite of his poor customer service and rudeness. I am unsure if I would return or recommend this establishment.

That was great. had brunch and fell in love with the pancakes. will be back!

Food is very mediocre and unimaginative. Definitely don’t get the mushroom appetizer (has anyone at CW actually tasted this horror and the salmon was overcooked, poor quality, and paired with a poor choice in sauce and vegetables.

Started at the bar with the flight of CW’s own tap wines. Four generous pours. We enjoyed all but the Rose. The in-house Som stopped by and was very knowledgeable about the wines. Very interesting to listen to his descriptions. Moved to a table for dinner. Original reservation was for two, but ended up as four and were accommodated. Ordered apps which were very good. Duck tacos, flatbread and amazing brussel sprouts. As we were selecting entrees, Som stopped by again to make recommendations for wine. Entrees and wine were excellent. Highly recommend this spot. They also have two rooms for live performances. Did not check those out.

The food was just ok, it’s over priced and small portions for the price.
