Family Spot Jamaican - Philadelphia

First time here, I'll be back. Ox tails were so good! Rice peas were good too! Didn't get to try the Mac bc they ran out but that's my fault for coming at 9:00pm.

Woke up with a craving for some good ackee salt fish. This was the only place that I could find nearby that was open at 8am. Stopped in and was greeted and order taken immediately with a few options given. Unfortunately, there were no fries plantains so instead I had to get the boiled banana. Instead of the boiled dumpling I decided on the fried ones and received 3 large dumplings. This large portion(at least for me and it was a small) was only $9. Ok on to the taste. It really wasn't bad at all. I wasn't expecting much flavor but there was and it was fresh, didn't taste like it was just warmed up. Small lil cozy place. Not sure if I'd stay and eat but the food was good.

Great authentic Food, and the portion sizes give you a serious bang for your buck. There is a wide selection to chose from. Great service just like it says it the name it’s a family spot. The staff is very welcoming and friendly making the experience almost as good as the food.

My first time coming here. I was impressed with the amount of food they gave you, a large platter was enough for two adults to eat. I had the oxtails and they were cooked perfect and plenty, candied yams were delicious, the Mac n cheese was ok and plenty. I will be back! They also had a variety of JAMACIAN beverages, the ginger beer was good.
