Contribuisci feedbackAttracted by the promise of delicious ramen for the first time since going vegan, I was excited to try this restaurant for an early lunch. Although I noticed on the online menu that there were two types of vegan ramen available, only one was listed when I arrived. However, my expectations were greatly surpassed. Unlike other places that attempt vegan options, the broth here was incredibly hearty, rich, and full-bodied without relying solely on salt for flavor. There was a complex and deep taste that I couldn't quite identify. The noodles were cooked perfectly, with just the right amount of chewiness. Despite my initial doubts from the menu photo, I was pleasantly surprised to find the portion size very satisfying and filling. This was one of the most delicious bowls of ramen I've had, vegan or not. While I would have liked to see more vegan options on the menu, this cozy spot was worth breaking my preference for strictly vegan establishments. (Reviewed on 2022-01-17)
They have edamame and a huge vegan vegetable ramen in shoyu or miso broth. very delicious.
I inquired about vegan choices and was informed that all their noodle dishes contain animal-based ingredients, leaving zero updated vegan options besides a few appetizers.
Attracted by the promise of delicious ramen for the first time since going vegan, I was excited to try this place for an early lunch. Even though I had only seen one vegan ramen option on the menu, my experience surpassed my expectations. Unlike other plant-based broths I've tried, this one was incredibly hearty and robust, with a complex and rich flavor profile that I couldn't quite pinpoint. The noodles were also cooked perfectly, with just the right amount of chewiness. Despite my initial concerns about portion size, I was pleasantly surprised to find myself feeling satisfied and warm after finishing my bowl. This was one of the best bowls of ramen I've had, vegan or not. While I would have liked to see more vegan options on the menu, this cozy spot was definitely worth straying from my usual veg-only choices.
The ramen at this restaurant is fantastic, well-made, and served quickly. We tried the Gates of Hell, Black Pig, and Porfilio ramen bowls, along with an order of Karaage. Each ramen bowl was $13 and the Karaage was $9. Our meal for three, including tip, came out to $60, which I believe is good value. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the pork belly chashiu was incredibly tender. I particularly enjoyed the Black Pig ramen with its flavorful black garlic oil, and I added togarashi for some extra spice. They also offer a spice bomb option for all their ramen. I personally found the Porfilio broth to have a strong corn flavor, but this is just my preference. The service was friendly and efficient, and the ambiance was pleasant. It's important to note that they are cash only, so be prepared. They also close early some nights due to the pandemic, so it's recommended to call ahead to confirm their hours. Takeaway and BYOB options are available, and they even have a vegetarian ramen choice.
