There are only so many restaurants that are successfully rooted in the soul of the owners and the staff. Le Virtu is one of them. An evening meal on their patio, with the mural and the pergola and the street traffic, is what life is about!
Love the food, the vast selection of apps and main courses. The selection of beer and wine was on point and the service and atmosphere was beautiful. The outside patio is so pretty. I will definitely go back and definitely recommend this place to anyone.
Years ago, my husband and I dumb-lucked into this amazing restaurant and have loved it ever since. Last night, we celebrated our anniversary outside on the covered patio, enjoying a glorious, breezy evening and luxuriating over a fabulous three-hour dinner, capped off by Sophia and Marcello on the big movie screen. We like to share everything in order to taste more dishes. We had a ball enjoying fried stuffed zucchini flowers, gnocchi affumicati, taccozzelle all' aquilana, and (omg) the porchetta. The pork stuffing in the zucchini flowers was spicier than expected, but still delicious. Both pasta dishes were wonderful, and I think we may be dreaming of the porchetta for a long time to come. A delightful white wine was suggested by our server. We had no intention of ordering dessert until we saw the menu, then we couldn't resist. Our choice of lu parrozz', a not-too-sweet flourless orange almond cake enrobed in dark chocolate ganache, was well worth it. To help us celebrate, two complimentary flutes of sparking wine were delivered with our dessert, making an already perfect evening even more perfect. When we arrived, we found that our reservation had been logged in for the wrong night. We were seated immediately without fanfare, and our evening proceeded flawlessly from there. Mille grazie, Le Virtu! We'll be back soon.
Had the best meal here last night for my 4 year anniversary with my boyfriend. We started off with the burrata in guazzetto, which was amazing! We could stop asking 'HOW is this SO good?! ' We split the Maccheroni alla mugnaia and Timballo col ragu di macellaio between each other. Both were delicious, the Timballo was to die for. Great texture and flavor. For dessert, we shared the brioche bread pudding topped with gelato. Another amazing dish. I was so full, but couldn 't stop eating it. All in all, an incredible meal. The service was also great. Definitely going back in the future.
Really captured the Italy experience. Very reminiscent of a meal I had in Florence a few years ago. Great Salumi platter, perfect bowl of pasta, easy atmosphere. And real Buffalo mozzarella. Hard to top that!
