Pho Ha Saigon - Philadelphia

I've been a regular at this restaurant for years, but unfortunately, I've noticed a decline in both quality and service over time. Prices are increasing, which seems to be a trend everywhere, but I was okay with the food quality given that it was more affordable than many other places and generally acceptable. However, my experience with the elderly waiter has left me hesitant to return. While I appreciate that he remembered our orders without writing them down and that the food arrived quickly, I found the process of paying at the front to be quite unfamiliar. I mistakenly forgot to leave a tip, and I was ready to settle my bill when the old man approached me, asking whether I had tipped in cash or by card. As I realized my oversight, the way he pressed for a tip and invaded my personal space made me really uncomfortable. I went ahead and adjusted my bill to include a tip, but after that encounter, I doubt I will dine in again. I’d prefer takeout or to try another restaurant.

I ordered a large pho and broken rice with pork chops. The pho soup was really flavorful, but the meat wasn't the best quality. The broken rice was tasty, and I was surprised to find that the pork chop was quite saucy. It was still good, just different from what I expected.

I visited this restaurant for Pho, but I almost changed my mind because the other menu options looked so appealing. The broken rice dishes were particularly tempting. However, I decided to go for the beef ball and rare steak Pho. The broth was rich in flavor, and there was a generous portion of noodles. My only wish is that there had been more beef balls, as it felt like the dish consisted of about 85% rare steak and not enough beef balls.

Price definitely has gone up the past year. It’s now $12+ for the pho special. Still good though, portion is filling.

This is my favorite Pho spot in Philly! Their pho Tai is delicious and the topping sizes are generous.Their to go packaging is also done really well. Sometimes I'll bring my own bowl, order pho to go, and go to a park and eat.Seriously tho, the broth here is really good!
