The fried rice brought back memories of the authentic tastes I enjoyed in Chinatown years ago, capturing that distinct pork flavor that’s both hard to describe and increasingly rare to find. The portion was massive—enough for two people—but I found it hard to stop eating until it was all gone. All this deliciousness packed into a combo plate! However, the ambiance leaves much to be desired. The restaurant feels more like a warehouse; all the decorations from the previous owners have been removed and not replaced. It’s just a vast, empty space with a few tables, bare walls, and boxes scattered everywhere, with food storage visibly close to where customers dine. It feels as though they weren’t expecting patrons to dine in. Based on the number of phone calls they received while I was there, it appears they thrive on takeout and delivery. In fact, I was the only dine-in customer during both of my visits. The server seemed surprised when I sat down, and her service lacked professionalism—almost like it was her first day waiting on customers. If you decide to visit, be prepared to feel a bit awkward sitting at a table, but do get ready to enjoy a truly delicious meal.
I order from this restaurant nearly every week when I don't feel like cooking, and I'm always impressed with the quality of the food. General Tso's chicken is my favorite, and the dumplings here are fantastic! The delivery usually arrives earlier than expected, which is great for me, but it's something others might want to consider.
This restaurant holds a special place in my heart. The first time I ordered from them, I called for a delivery. Shortly after placing my order, I realized I had left my wallet at work. I called back to explain the situation, apologized for the mix-up, and asked to cancel my order. About 45 minutes later, there was a knock at my door. I opened it to find a delivery man holding the food I had ordered. He handed me the bag and started to leave, but I reminded him that I hadn’t paid for it and I didn’t want him to get in trouble because of my mistake. To my surprise, he turned around and said, “It’s no problem, sir, I’m the owner, and you need to eat today. Just pay us back when you can.” If that isn’t a good reason to order from these kind-hearted people, I don’t know what is! Plus, the food is really delicious. The only downside is that they don’t serve sushi. I highly, highly recommend them!
