Somo Greenhouse - Philadelphia

It was my birthday. We booked for the greenhouse, which costs extra. It's nothing special to be honest, but the shadow was beautiful and have a place not so open and it was worth it for every passer. The service was nothing special. Our waitress wa nice, but it took about 45 minutes to get even our sisters who was not ideal as we were supposed to have only 90 minutes on our reservation. No one mentioned this or threw us out. The food was all delicious and the drinks were amazing. Definitely a point of sale. They were better without ice because they use a lot of ice so that it wateres down the drinks. We chose the Lychee martinis and frose. I would go back sincerely, only for the Fresé Bc was good and strong. The food was good. Maybe the atmosphere would have been better and faster.

The greenhouse experience was quite disappointing and overpriced. I expected to pay around $50 for a bit more privacy, but it felt unnecessary since I could have dined at the main restaurant for free. Their website misleadingly stated that they were open for the summer. The service was also subpar; we arrived at 12:45 and were given a map with a designated time of 2:24 for our visit. We didn’t receive any water until about 1:20, and our food didn’t arrive until 2:18. Given the long waiting times, they shouldn’t have such strict limits on visits. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed and definitely needed more assistance. When our food finally arrived, it was lukewarm, despite the lengthy wait.

This restaurant is way overpriced for what it offers, including the greenhouse reservation fee added to the dinner bill (which I didn't mind at first since it was Mother's Day). However, after having to adhere to the greenhouse's arrival rules, we ended up waiting at least 30 minutes past our booking time. We experienced long delays for our food, waiting approximately an hour for appetizers and salads, and our total time spent there was around three hours, as it was transitioning from brunch to dinner service. To make matters worse, the greenhouse roof leaked in two spots when there was a light rain. The food reminded me of mediocre wedding catering—I could have made better meals at home. Considering the amount I spent at SOMO for this disappointing experience, we could have dined at a really nice steakhouse or another upscale restaurant and had a much more pleasant meal. I cannot recommend this place, especially not on a holiday. The server was great, but they can't be held accountable for the lack of proper management and the quality of the food.

The staff was exceptional; they took care of everything for my daughter's birthday party.

Everything about our experience at SOMO was incredible! I noted that we were celebrating something for myself, and the manager and team at SOMO went above and beyond to make our night special. The food was incredible and the drinks were perfect! Will absolutely be returning.
