Sugar Philly Manayunk - Philadelphia

Unless you have time to waste, don't do it to yourself. We were seated immediately but the service took forever. The waiter was extremely nice but it didn't excuse the long wait. I had my 7yr old daughter with me. She was extremely hungry waiting for the food to show up. During this time I decided to read the reviews (which I should've done beforehand). Seeing that the workers weren't being paid really bothered me but now I understood why things were happening the way they were. An interesting experience to say the least.

This is hands down my favorite place for breakfast in Manayunk. The chicken and waffles is so full of flavor that you never want to get full. The Eggs Bernie is absolutely fantastic. The brunch cocktails are to die for. Can't recommend enough.

The restaurant is really nice anywhere you sit. The cocktails were great. Our server Greg was excellent and deserves a gold medal. The food we received at brunch though was very hit or miss, even amongst different elements of the same dish. For example, the waffles of the chicken and waffles were good, the chicken was too spicy to where heat was all you tasted. The grits from the shrimp and grits were good, but the gravy was awful. I ordered my eggs over easy and received eggs fried hard with a broken yolk, sent it back, received eggs fried hard again, sent it back, and finally got my over easy eggs. I will probably comeback here again but just for drinks and maybe if I'm really hungry a small bite to eat with them.

If you 're vegetarian I do not recommend eating here, you can find much better options all up and down main street. Although they do not claim to be specifically a vegetarian restaurant, their options were just super disappointing. I am always excited to see cauliflower wings on a menu as a vegetarian but DO NOT order the ones here. As you can see in the photo I have attached all these wings are is just breading with the most minuscule bits of chopped up cauliflower. You could say I was disappointed at the least. Along with these wings I ordered the baked mac and cheese, but there was nothing baked about it. The mac and cheese was okay, below average and quite bland. Also note I did order these items to go. When I went to their website it said online ordering was down so I decided to call in. When I called they put me on hold so long I had to hang up and call back. When I called back they put me on another hold and transferred me to another person who then took an additional 5-10 minutes until she took my order. A whole lot of trouble for some below average food... but I have learned my lesson.

Really nice vibe, good service. Had the wine flight on a date night with my fiancé and had a great time enjoying their outside seating. Also the drinks were strong!
