Csalt On The Beach Restaurant and Bistro

Family of 4 adults and 2 kids attended for the second time last Saturday and couldn't believe what happened. Every few people in the restaurant, we ordered our dinner bring entrees and mains, the oysters were beautiful especially if I would of had enough time to eat the half dozen before all the mains arrived at the table. Well my comment to the staff member was are you joking we haven't finished our entrees! His reply was he could take it out to the kitchen and put it in the warming drawers, well no that won't be happening as I was having garlic prawns. Very disappointing and certainly not cheap food. Not enough sauce on the garlic prawns very dry. Highlight the oysters and garlic bread. The staff really need to do some training on when and when not to. Ring the next course out before the entree is half finished. Won't be back there any time soon.

I have been to this restaurant 8 times in the last year due to extended family insistence, due to the location close to them.This review stands as a solid reinforcement over all of my visits.5 star prices, with a 5 star location, 2 star service, 3 star food, 3 star value.The service is terrible, table water is never provided, menu's are thrown about the table and never removed, plates are never removed, food takes a long time to come out, even just fish and chips - 45 mins on average.It is incredibly loud due to ALWAYS large groups and kids around, our table barely spoke to each other as we had to yell even across or next to one another.Everything is priced at near $30 for mains up to $50 for individual meals. Fish and chips being $27 and surf and turf $29 does not make sense.This place needs a proper manager and a major shake up. It still gets business due to location and there is nothing else around, however a business should have pride in it's service. The owners I assume, indian looking men, chatted behind the counter for the good few hours we were there this last time.Our plates for the table of 10 people were not removed for an hour and we had to stack them ourselves in order to be able to feel comfortable.Dessert or coffees is never offered.This place is too big for it's boots, what a waste of a business that really could be a gem.

The staff were so attentive, food beautiful, view stunning. Great value for money 3 course Christmas party lunch. Interesting and tasty choices finished off with beautiful coffee. Highly recommend this restaurant

While the setting is dated, the food was very good. I particularly enjoyed my Calamari it was cooked to perfection. The others in my group enjoyed their steaks. The view was lovely. Parking on an extremely hot day was a little difficult but it worked out. For your information the bar only takes cash.

This little restaurant attached to the Yarra bay sailing club is quite a gem. We have visited a number of times and have never been disappointed. You have to try the garlic prawns with rice. Pleasant view over Botany Bay and very friendly staff make it a welcomed experience.
