I've noticed that they've recently reduced the portion sizes, but you still get a soup, an entrée, a spring roll, and rice at a reasonable price. The staff is friendly, although one of the waitresses struggles with English, so it's important to be patient. Overall, New Hong Kong is a reliable option for lunch.
I'm not from this area, but I was thrilled to discover a Chinese restaurant with flavors that remind me of home! The food was fantastic, and I especially loved the crab puffs—they were simply amazing!
I came across all the fantastic reviews and felt I had to give it a try. Unfortunately, I was left disappointed. I ordered the shrimp in lobster sauce lunch special, which included soup, crab rangoon, fried rice, and a spring roll. The soup was definitely the highlight—it had a rich flavor with plenty of celery and chicken broth. However, the fried rice was bland and lacked the peas, carrots, and egg that I expected. The shrimp in lobster sauce was complemented with vegetables that tasted frozen. The crab rangoon was virtually hollow, the spring roll was tasteless and mushy inside, and the shrimp were smaller than I'm used to. Although the food was hot when I picked it up and they were ready for me, the overall taste just didn't cut it. At nearly $11 for the lunch special, it wasn't worth it. Also, just a heads up: I paid cash, but they do add an extra fee for credit card payments.
This brings me back to my childhood, it?s perfect and exactly tastes as I remember. It?s been a very long time that I have tasted authentic Chinese (as I have always known it) Also very inviting staff and comfortable atmosphere. Highly recommended, came in for the lunch special which was definitely perfect full portions and very little wait.
Decent food however I started coming here regularly only a few months ago because of how good their orange chicken was. Super crispy and flavorful but now it has changed to the same old orange chicken you can find anywhere else. Compare my recent photo with the other picture of orange chicken uploaded previously (with orange peel garnish on top). Please go back to this style of orange chicken!
