Yama Sushi House Phoenix

Solid if not spectacular. Reasonable pricing. Decent fish. Yama is a like a 3 star movie. You remember you saw it or ate there but could I tell you the plot ? Would I watch it again? Probably not. But compared to most places in phx pretty good.

Pretty good overall. Got the sushi boat, tataki, nabeyaki udon, and Fuji roll. Tataki was a bit disappointing considering it's 15 for four thin slices of fish. Fuji roll was good, came with cubed chunks of fish on top of the roll. Udon was flavorful, on the sweeter side with a strong mushroom flavor. The sushi boat came with red snapper, albacore, tuna, salmon, and yellowtail sashimi, tuna, yellowtail, salmon, and white tuna nigiri. A dragon roll and we subbed the spicy tuna roll for a yellowtail scallion roll they were the same price otherwise a sub might incurr a charge for the difference). The yellowtail and salmon were prolly the best texture wise a bit more firm).

Yama has never disappointed! If you ask me to go out for sushi or order sushi in it will 100 percent be from Yama!

I'm not a sushi fan, but was invited by friends who liked it ok, some of him seemed pretty chewy and this person didn't cost it! I have the Japanese curry seafood udon (muscles were very chewy and tough - i.e. never had snuggles that were so? shrimp was pretty good. too much nude for me. Oh, good. it is a very small place, not large ambiente or comfortable, but there is a terrace that has more sitting opportunities. bathroom are unisex. parking is very hard and very tight to get in / from the parking space of central! try it out.
