Island Mix Lounge - Pickering

I recently ordered takeout from this restaurant, and I’ve been a regular customer for the past 15 years. I really enjoyed the food, and it seemed like the other diners were having a great time too. I appreciate the improvements they've made over the years. They offer amazing Guyanese dishes and tasty pastries. I highly recommend it for a delightful Caribbean dining experience, whether for casual meals or special events.

The service was exceptional. Our waitress had an impressive memory! The food was delicious. We started with the Mango Salsa and Wonton Chips, which were fantastic! The Chicken Wontons with dip were also tasty, and the Chicken Wonton Soup was outstanding. The corn soup and shrimp were absolutely delightful—everything we tried was remarkable. The tables were arranged in an open area, but the restrooms were quite warm, which felt a bit odd, almost like stepping into a sauna.

A little slice of paradise in South Pickering! The food was not only delicious but also abundant. The combination of fried plantains with the fried rice and J chicken was absolutely fantastic! Be sure to get there early, as it can get quite busy. The atmosphere and service truly highlight the excellence of this restaurant. I highly recommend it! God bless!

The food was quite tasty, especially the curry chicken, which I really enjoyed. However, the overall experience was just average. I've had better meals at other Caribbean restaurants.

Island Mix hosted a golf tournament on July 16, 2023, and I must say that everything was superbly organized. The staff were remarkably friendly, and the dinner buffet after the tournament was outstanding. It featured some of the most delicious West Indian food I've ever tasted. A huge thank you to the staff for making it such a wonderful day!
