Small restaurant but the quality of the food was excellent and cheap. Will be going back there for sure.

Sakura Sushi Restaurant located in a strip mall off Highway 2 near the Pickering Town Centre is a mere 15 mins from Scarborough. We have heard a lot about this restaurant and had the opportunity to go there last weekend. It is a small efficient family-run restaurant, tastefully decorated. We went early Saturday evening and the place was already full. The owner was welcoming and suggested some dishes given our preferences. We ordered a Sushi and Sashmi boat of 30 pcs, a Black Dragon roll, and a Salmon Teriyaki for our family of 4. We started our meal with an iceberg and carrot salad with a delicious dressing, followed by a miso soup. Complimentary extras like Kimchi, Sweet potato noodles and crunchy rice balls in a sweet and spicy sauce were also brought and they were very good. Our food arrived looking very artistic. Sushi is not my thing but I enjoyed the Black Dragon roll platter thoroughly. My mother-in-law enjoyed her Salmon Teriyaki which came with tempura and some vegetarian sushi. My spouse and daughter started on the sashimi boat which was huge, by the way! The sashimi and sushi were very fresh and very yummy! The staff was very attentive with all the tables refilling water, tea and attending to customer requests. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and had enough left over for next day's lunch. We will definitely be returning there soon and recommend this place to all our family and friends.
