The George - Piercebridge

As someone who has worked as a waitress before, I know what a busy restaurant looks like. It took a long time for us to order drinks, with one even being served in a dirty glass. Ordering our food was also delayed. We ended up ordering too much Calamari, with the portions being uneven. The Bratbeef dish came with only two small pieces of meat. After we finished our meal, no one came to clear our table and the staff seemed to have disappeared. We had to search for them in the bar. It took a total of 3.5 hours to serve a party of four people two courses. Overall, we were extremely disappointed with the service, especially since we had family visiting from Leeds with two young children.

The food was excellent. The chef's beef and pork cake was delicious. The staff was friendly and chatty. The quiet restaurant had a beautiful view of the river for us to enjoy while we ate.
