Taste Of China - Pilot Mountain

I had an excellent experience at this restaurant! The food was fantastic and the service was top-notch. I visited for the first time on Friday, and I was impressed with the generous portions and great value for money. I will definitely be returning soon!

This restaurant is fantastic! The staff is incredibly friendly, and the food quality is top-notch. The dumplings are excellent—some of the best you’ll find in the region, especially in Tradition and Stokes County. I highly recommend staying away from the Chinese buffets in Elkin and Mt. I ordered sweet and sour chicken with fried rice. The flavor was decent, but the sweet and sour sauce was overly runny and thin, and the rice was a bit sticky. There aren't many options in this city.

My review is based on how the management responded to a situation with another customer seated across from us. A lady had a roach crawl up her arm just as she was about to take a bite of her meal. When she complained, the manager let her leave without offering any refund. It was right in the middle of us starting to eat our $22 worth of food when the roach incident occurred, which nearly made me vomit. Ultimately, our food ended up in the trash... absolutely disgusting.

During our visit to the area, our family was in the mood for Chinese food, and after checking out some reviews, we decided to give Taste of China a try. It truly exceeded our expectations in terms of flavor, quality, and variety. The restaurant can be a bit tricky to locate the first time using Google Maps, but once we stepped inside, it was clear that it was a local favorite and had a bustling takeout service. We ordered sweet and sour chicken, vegetable fried rice, hot and sour soup, egg rolls, and spring rolls—all of which were outstanding. The food was prepared fresh upon ordering, and even the fried rice stayed moist when we reheated it for lunch the next day. With generous portion sizes, you definitely won’t be disappointed!
