The restaurant exudes a romantic ambiance with its dim lighting and soft music, making it ideal for a date night. Making reservations in advance is highly recommended, especially for popular occasions like Valentine's Day. The attentive waitress went above and beyond in providing wine recommendations tailored to my preferences, ensuring a perfect pairing with my meal. I opted for the La Crema, which did not disappoint. The balsamic carrot appetizer was a tasty start, with a perfect balance of sweetness and savoriness in the glaze. The mushroom chicken plate was a standout dish, with tender chicken and a flavorful Asiago sauce that exceeded my expectations. While La Vita Bistro may be on the pricier side, it is worth every penny for a special occasion. I highly recommend this restaurant for a memorable dining experience.
To make your visit to La Vita Bistro start out right, enter the doors closest to Main St. so you don't have to wind yourself through the entire crowded, cramped restaurant to get to the hostess stand. The hostess was exceptionally friendly, as was our waitress, Cecily. We were in a bit of a hurry, and she made sure to check back regularly, and bring our bill as soon as we were done eating. The interior of the bistro is cozy, warm, and nicely decorated, albeit crammed with too many tables and people. We started with their complimentary bread, which is delicious, following that with tomato and basil soup. Based solely on flavor, this was an excellent recommendation from our waitress. Unfortunately, it was lukewarm right when it was brought to the table, and both of us would have liked it to be hot. We weren't super hungry, so we split lasagna, made with homemade sausage, which was a little disappointing. First, from a texture perspective, slices of sausage just don't belong in lasagna. It should be taken out of the casing, and cut or crumbled before making it part of this dish. Secondly, I thought it might have been me, but my husband agreed that there was a slightly fishy taste to the lasagna. It was peculiar and unwelcome, but not so overpowering that we wanted to take time to send it back, as we were a tad rushed. I really want to give La Vita Bistro four stars, but just can't, so we'll have to come back and try something else. Thumbs up to Cecily on providing excellent service--hopefully we'll get lucky and have her as our waitress again.
The piedmont onion soup is worth it 's wait in gold!!! Salty onion broth with a creamy stringy cheese and a delicious crouton hiding below!!! It 's fantastic, we go for the soup and always try something with it and always say well at least the soup was wort it . The hand cut fries were decent but the burger was a dry over cooked store bought patty and as always there was something missing, the signature sauce wasn 't even on the dry lifeless burger. Honestly though, not mad because the soup is worth it.
My husband and I came here after we ran 50 miles. It was around 4:30pm and we got right in. The service was phenomenal! It was the best we had all year! The manager and by and the server kept checking in. We started with the antipasti! It was delicious and huge! The bread was warm and savory and the oil with the herbs was flavorful and delicious! Our mains came with soup or salad. My husband had Caesar and I had the minestrone. Both were delicious and perfect sizes. For mains, I had the bucatini bolognese and my husband had the ravioli bolognese. My bucatini was cooked perfectly and my husband loved his ravioli! We had plenty of leftovers to take with us and even the bottle of wine we had. It was a great local find and amazing service! We will definitely be back!
My first time here ... the Duck n Gnocchi had tons of flavor, Duck could have been cooked a bit longer and my husband ordered Veal Parmesan and received Chicken ... (although it was tasty) Waitress was below average when we told her about meal all she did was giggle and say I must have pushed the wrong button ... she did offer to bring out a piece of veal .... then didn't come back until she brought the bill and never checked back, we left and no one was to be found not even a good bye ..
