I found the Caesar dressing lacking and the chicken was just seemingly dropped on top. No attempt at presentation there. We also shared a portion of pommes frites which, while one of their best things, has now gotten to a ridiculous $6. Too much for fries, folks. We passed on the drinks due to the price of the salads. They need to upgrade their offerings a bit and keep their prices in line. I will still likely go there but may try Tina's first.
We had a group of 7. Waiter was great. Food was great. Really should accept separate checks though. That was the worse part, figuring out how much we individually owed! Other than that, all was great!
I've been to Pear Street Bistro before. And the food, and atmosphere was great as always. Unfortunately, the service was not good. And it's only the service of a waiter named Daniel. Every other experience I've had with other wait staff has been great. Daniel has served me and my best friend on two separate occasions, and they have both been less than satisfactory. On Easter Sunday we had to ask for the complimentary biscuits and jam, I was given dirty silverware and Daniel didn't acknowledge me at all. He just took the fork. He very seldom checked on us to see if we needed anything. He seemed to be to preoccupied with drinking at the bar and socializing to notice that my best friend waited 10 minutes before he got her another mimosa. In a previous experience Daniel dropped my cousins credit card. Another patron was kind enough to notice, pick it up and return it. Pear Street Bistro is an amazing place to dine. However, I will request not to be served by Daniel in the future.
I made a reservation through Open Table ... despite several empty tables of about 45%, Hostess decides to school me by the door in front of people that reservations are SUPPOSED to be made 24 hours in advance. They got my reservations a few minutes earlier in my search for nearby restaurants. The restaurant was not even at capacity with 45% of tables unoccupied. We were placed next to a couple of ladies who turned out to be equally disappointed with the service, having had to wait for the refill of their drinks for half an hour until they left without finishing their meal they were very upset, again, because the restaurant was not that busy at that time. No complaints about the food ... even our waiter, Daniel, turned out to be attentive the saving grace of the restaurant ... However, Hostess was completely unprofessional and should not be working that kind of a job.
I would rate this restaurant 4 out of 5 for their potatoes, as they were excellent. The fruits were not consumed due to concerns over recent news about cantaloupe. The mimosas and biscuit jam were both top-notch, receiving a perfect 10 out of 10. I came to this restaurant specifically for...
