Rakadiko Stoa Kouvelou - Piraeus

This place is a must!! Walking to it feels sketchy and even seeing construction next to it gave it a bad vibe, but the moment you enter you are greeted with outstanding hospitality and I promise it’s safe! We showed up at 9:15pm on a Saturday and were there with just one other couple, by 9:45pm it started getting packed, then at 10pm there was a live band. I highly recommend the musaka is basically like lasagna, except potatoes, cheese, and ground beef. Goes really well with their bread wine. I saw a few people next to us order the gyro platter and I’d say it’s something you could easily split with 2-3 people! You can’t go wrong with this place. Order a couple things and split it amongst everyone. I wish we had something like this back home. We spent 40 euros for 2 entrees, a salad we split, and 2 glasses of wine that were really more like 4 glasses of wine, large portions! Musaka was 10 euros, pasta 12 euros, wine 5 euros each, salad 8 euros. If I’m ever back here I’ll certainly come again for some homemade tasting food

It is in a very old building in Piraeus with easy access by the metro. Just 5 minutes walk from the metro station at the port. The food is excellent, mostly offering recipes coming from Smyrni. The owner and the staff are very friendly ready to serve. The prices are very reasonable.

Nice atmosphere but the waiter was the only one for all the tables, therefore our orders were a little delayed and we struggled to get him to give us attention so that we order extra dishes. Food was quite mediocre, some plates were already quite cold by the time they reached our table. We got complimentary raki in the end of our meal but it tasted like water.

We have been coming to this place every year we come to Greece since 2000 , so for more then 20 years and it never fails our expectations ..music ..food ...very authentic warm unpretentious service . For us this restaurant is an iconic Pireus institution and a must visit for anyone who is happy to experience a traditional Greek food with a twist in the heart of Perrus with all locals.
