Splash Café - PISMO BEACH

We had heard about this place and stopped in for some clam chowder. The line was exceptionally long, so we placed an order online and stopped by when it was ready. This paid off well and saved some standing in line. That being said, I'd stand in the line if it was the only way to get that clam chowder. It was incredible. It's so good, in fact, that we stopped by again 2 days later on our way south. They usually talk about new England and Manhattan style chowder, which is funny, I've had chowder on the east coast, and the west coast beats it, hands down. The stuff at Splash is one of the best I've ever had. Well worth the stop

So good. I’ve tried a few clam chowders in the area and this one is my favorite. The hot sauce is so good you should plan on bringing a bottle home. Only thing I didn’t like was the green onions were not finely cut so you would get a big crunchy bite of green onion. Next time I won’t get them but overall super tasty.

Lobster sandwich and bowl of chowder. Chowder is definitely up there with the best. A super creamy soup, with plenty of clam, clam flavor and potatoes. Soup almost tastes like melted cheese in a good way. Lobster roll was good too and a generous portion. Only wish was the roll was toasted.
