We ordered the fried mushrooms and they were good although a little pale. Wish they would've stayed in the fryer just a minute longer. However, the sirloin tips were outstanding. Both my son and I ordered ours with onions which was a smart choice. He got the fries and I got the baked potato. Our server was attentive. We also tried a piece of apple cheesecake which was good. The server, when I asked, did say that none of the desserts were made in house. If they addressed that issue, it would be a excellent dining establishment. We loved it as it is...but a good scratch dessert...well, you know!
Would never go there again med well steak was well done. I do not eat steak however my friend asked me to try it, because it was not cooked right very dry and tasteless. So I did I was charged 6 dollars for a extra plate when I had ordered a stuffed baked potato as my meal. I guess he thought I wasn't paying enough to eat in his restaurant no problem will never step foot in that door again. Best of luck because your food doesn't come close to Jim's Steakhouse, how sad for Pittsburg
We ate at Jim's for the first time since new ownership and we thought it was very good! Everything is not exactly the same as before but pretty close and we were very happy with the new Jim's Steak and Chop. We had the onions rings which were delicious and we also had beef tips. The tips were large portion sizes and were tender just like before. The only thing we can say that's negative is that my husbands were cooked a little more done than he ordered so maybe order your beef to be cooked a little on the lesser side to get if you want medium rare. Mine were cooked medium and were just fine. Our waitress was very friendly and efficient. We had an overall great experience and highly recommend!
There was a wait and we sat in the bar area... As we entered the restaurant I held the door for a gentleman carrying in some bottles for the bar...that gentleman turned out to be our server. Small world!!! Ha ha. This place is just as I remember it growing up...1st class! We enjoyed drinks and conversation. The pace at which our server had in plan was superb! The mountain of onion rings came out as did our delicious salads! The drinks never got low and really I felt truly valued as a customer through the dinner. My entree of grilled chicken breast smothered in shrooms was more than I could handle however it was decadent. Very juicy and pretty at that. (The grill marks on point thanks kitchen staff!!! . Dessert was offered however we had no room. The host/cashier ran my card as got up to use the restroom earlier... I wanted to be sly and pick up the table check! I was super pleased and am very anxious to return when in the area again! Thank you to the Jim's Steak House staff for providing this experience !! Respectfully, Bryan Oklahoma City
Decent food, love the beef tips. Service did take a little long but given the current situation where people don't want to work, I can't fault the owners. Place could use an update but from what I gather that is the charm of the place. When you walk in there is a late 70's early 80's kind of feel to the interior. I know it was closed for a short time while changing owners but if you like a decent home cooked meal with a lot of history behind the spot you are going, Jim's steakhouse is the place to go.
