There is outdoor dining during the warm weather months, but there is plenty of room inside where there are tables, booths, and a very large rectangular bar, which probably seats 50-60 people. Had the grilled tuna that came with rice pilaf and vegetable medley sides. The Ceasars salad appetizer was a meal in itself. The restaurant reminded me of a restaurant you find in the French Quarter.
Seafood was delicious. Chicken wings were cooked just right and not over cooked chewy and was pretty large size, overall fantastic. Service was great. Its a great place to dine in
Always a must stop for a lobster roll. It is outstanding, they always get there ingredients local. Recommend when you are in Pittsburgh, service is great, always enjoy the experience.
We went here for dinner on Saturday after our daughter’s graduation from Duquesne University. AJ was our server and she was amazing, speedy, efficient and hilarious with her quick wit and humor! ? And the food SUPER AMAZING! Our graduate ordered the seafood stew chock full of tender, perfectly cooked shellfish and fish, and the broth was out of this world! The salads are huge and crisp, my husband got the nachos and the plate was piled high with a hefty assortment of nachos, chicken, and other culinary delights. My son and I ordered the lobster roll and it was better than any we’d ever had, felt like we were on the docks in Maine. The lobster was sweet and succulent, surrounded by a crispy Texas style buttery toasted roll. The grilled asparagus was seasoned very well and crunchy and tasty! Our other daughter ordered the lobster bisque, it’s a huge bowl, creamy and brimming with sweet lobster. Roland’s does not skimp on their portions or the amount of seafood in any given dish. The atmosphere is exciting, and a little loud, but it was perfect for our celebratory vibe! You come here to have fun, and there is no shortage of that! Will definitely return!
I had the pot of mussels. There may be 4 dozen mussels in there, or more. They were cooked perfectly. My wife had grilled shrimp skewers. 3 skewers with 12 shrimp. A little under done but good. Plus a huge side salad, vegetable and French fries included. So, a lot of food overall and good service. The place was busy but the tables turn over quickly.
