I was looking for 2 last minute birthday cakes and I’m so glad I found Sumi’s! I ended up getting the Mango cake, Strawberry cake, and a slice of Green Tea cake for myself to try. They were ALL delicious!! Seriously, the mango cake was probably one of the best mango cakes I’ve ever had. The mango and strawberries both tasted fresh and the cakes were not too sweet aka perfect for my Asian taste buds. The green tea cake slice was equally as delicious and had pieces of red bean in it!I also grabbed a couple pastries to try out as well and those did not disappoint. Highly recommend the condensed milk bread and the red bean bun.I can’t wait to come back to try all the other desserts and pastries!!
I live, laugh, love Sumi 's Cakery. Sumi 's cakery is one of a kind, the only Korean bakery in Pittsburgh. Their cakes are so light and filled with freshest cream. It 's not too sweet a very prestigious compliment in asian culture. A very light treat that doesn 't make me feel guilty about eating dessert. Lastly, their garlic honey butter with cream cheese is perfection. Its creamy, sweet, savory and buttery. EVERYONE should try it !
My SO and I drove from Marianna to get here. We were super excited. And it turned out to be just as awesome as we imagined. We got quite a few buns and each one was delicious! We are not used to an area like that. Parking with a meter, there were no meters where we moved from and it was a rude awakening when we got a $25 ticket. So if you're not familiar with the area like us, watch out for the meters! This place was cute and I can't wait to go back and try more goodies! We got there about two hours before closing time but she still had a quite a nice variety. She was very welcoming and sweet. Next time I want to try the bingsoo and some cakes. I highly recommend this place. Can't wait to go back!
Red bean buns, strawberry cake, earl grey cake, green tea cake, red bean bingsu, mixed fruit (mango, blueberry, strawberry, and grapes) bingsu, cappuccino, etc. We were couch lounging and this came up on our online search for bingsu. There is not a ton of seating, but late afternoon on a Saturday we were able to order our bingsu and find a seat to enjoy it. You can buy a full cake or individual slices. Prices are reasonable, and the location is great in Squirrel hill.
