Every menu item I've tried and over the past 30+ years I've tried a lot is tasty, fresh, and a belly filler. From the Olvera Street taquitos to the combination plates to the chimichanga to the tostada salads to the carnitas burritos....all super delicious. And the table salsa and chips are hands down better than any other Mexican style restaurant, even those that claim authenticity and longevity. I'm not sure if it's the simplicity of the salsa or some special ingredient but once you start eating it with the chips, it's very difficult to stop. And that's a good thing. The waitstaff is always terrific. Even though my father is no longer with us, we still return in his memory, Thank you, Whole Enchilada, for being a place of good food and good memories for my family.
I was not expecting a whole lot from this place- but wanted to give it a try to say that I did. And I was genuinely surprised. The enchilada was okay- I do wish they had an option for salsa verde. And although this was Americanized Mexican food, it was actually pretty good! The tamales tasted amazing, rice and beans were great, the what I call American style tacos hit the spot. This felt like a childhood 90s restaurant and gives nostalgia feels all the way. The pricing was a bit high, and the table service was nothing horrible, but nothing great. I would definitely return for the tamales and tacos!
Some years back a former co-worker took me to this place and I really enjoyed it but then forgot the name and location in the ensuing months and years....always wondered what place that was... Then today just looking around the general area of my work I saw The Whole Enchilada on Google Map and being that it's Taco Tuesday it sounded like a good place to give a try.... I arrive and it slowly dawns on me as I enter and am seated that this is that place I had wondered about for years. I was really excited to have found it again. The chips and salsa are simply the best. The crispy chicken tacos were superb and as simple as rice and beans sound to prepare and serve, I think we have all had our share of disappointing rice and bean experiences but The Whole Enchilada got everything perfectly correct. Gonna make this my Tuesday go-to!
I happened to see this mexican restaurant, while at a store across the street. I figured that I would give it a try and order some take out. I am glad I did because the food was very good. I didnt have to wait long and their take out window outside was really organized. The woman at the window was friendly and the food was still warm when we arrived home. We ordered a bean cheese burrito and Flautas, both with sides. Bith came with chips, which were also good. Its always great when you try a new place on a whim and its turns out to be very good. We will definitely be back.
Simply the best!!! We've been going here for over 40 years and it has never disappointed. My wife loves the Baja Tacos and I always get the Rueben's Special with beans. It is good and hot and always taste amazing. They also have the best chips and salsa around. Highly recommended.
