After spending $14 for a roll of paper towel and a 4-pack toilet paper (all of the lowest quality) plus a soda, I asked if they had plastic bags (which would be great considering it 's a very wet snow season), the lady behind the counter rolled her eyes and said Oh we don 't do plastic bags here. Then, the pos machine asked for tips starting at 18%, which I don 't believe many have ever seen at a convenient store... Just yet another moment that reminds me why I left California...Follow-up to the reply of the owner: Apparently we have different definitions of quality of toilet papers. With thin toilet papers, in order to avoid getting your hands soiled, one needs to use more layers and that won 't save the environment.Regarding plastic bags, plastic can be almost 100% recycled with modern technologies, and they don 't require cutting trees. As for the pos machine, California is the citadel of software engineering and it 's just hilarious that pos machines here can 't tell cafe customers from supply shoppers based on what they are buying. Finally, trust me, if I had a choice, I 'd rather never return to CA.
Bought a 4 pack of beers for the patio, my 2 friends were arriving a little later so I asked if I could keep tge other 2 beers in the fridge. She rudely said no, I cant let you do that, gave no reason. It was totally dead, noone else around. Why?
Expensive!!! Do your shopping in town. Not great customer service.
The only business open in the Northstar Village during a four day blizzard and for all the marooned, snowed in people: this was it. Nobody was able to leave for two days, but nobody needed to go Donner Party on anyone either the shelves were well stocked. The owners planned ahead with purchasing and scheduling staff, who were all efficient and friendly. Though it was crowded, it never felt like the wait was long. We got the fixings for a huge pasta dinner and some good and reasonably priced wine and beer. The whole experience
