HopScotch and Vine - Plainfield

Amazing eating, great service, cool decor. tonight was our first trip here. I'll post pictures of what I had. it was well enjoyed by my whole party. they have a children's menu and children are welcome. parking can be hard, but unlike the ones to go down here. we have kept up and were sitting pretty fast when we arrived. on the food pimento cigars very good, they were the size of egg rolls. I wish there were more cigar size, it was kind of a mess to eat, but still very good. old fashion good to drink, but all drinks prices are in the city price it was $12 texas burger to dinner the best burger I had in a long time.

The appetizers were tiny. Three medium shrimp made up the cocktail. The two costinis with the toppings were tasty. Both were very good but small. The Kale salad was delicious. The Lemon artichoke soup was tasty but light on the artichoke. The Salmon had an upcharge I didn 't notice but did see later was noted on the menu. It was good but not worth the price. The Lemon Chicken and how it was addressed is the reason we will not be returning. It was dry beyond belief. We did mention to the waitress but no accommodations were made. There was not a manager on duty so a senior waitress came to the table. We didn 't get past the phrasing of Late Night Upcharge on the receipt for our 7:30p reservation. I will have to say though that the Snickers cheesecake and Oreo Mousse desserts at least left a better taste in our mouths. We have talked highly of HS&V for years. I 'm hoping this is a rare combination of circumstances but definitely didn 't leave us with an upscale experience.

I am surprised by so many positive reviews. We ordered the seafood “platter” and it was a joke. Maybe 6 very small shrimp, along with very few calamari rings and coconut shrimp that tasted like something you would grab from the freezer section at jewel. Food was very disappointing. Entrees were far from stellar as well. Drinks and service were great.

Quaint. Beautiful decor. Friendly welcoming staff. Delicious food.
