A big shoutout to them - we appreciated that they shared their customers with us. While we will always go to Birddog because it is nearby and we love everyone there, we really enjoyed the food at Dog the bank. The host was very accommodating, and our waitress Carlhi was amazing! I hope I am spelling her name correctly. The service was great, and the food was unique and delicious. The calamari was excellent, and we especially enjoyed the Asian twist with shishito peppers. The red grouper was cooked perfectly and decadent! The salmon was also perfectly cooked and probably the most delicious salmon I have ever had. This is saying a lot as I have tried salmon from all over Chicago and New York. This place is as good as Birddog - I will definitely be returning! Additionally, thank you for offering Flowers Pinot Noir wine. It is one of my favorite Pinots!
We went for brunch. The food was excellent, with European-sized portions, but the service could use improvement. Our server was not very friendly. If you prioritize delicious food over cheerful wait staff, this is the place for you.
Unfortunately, it seems that this restaurant discriminates against people who may not appear wealthy. I was unaware that it was meant for the upper class only, as I had never visited before. I apologize for not meeting their standards, but I will not be dining here again. The staff and other customers were incredibly rude, making me feel embarrassed and disrespected. I work hard for my money, and it is just as valid as anyone else's. I am happy to take my business elsewhere.
This dining establishment boasts a well-conceived and aesthetically pleasing design, both inside and out, contributing to an engaging and popular dining experience within the town.Upon initial entry, the seating process appeared somewhat perplexing, as I was informed that they would not be able to accommodate any diners for the next 30 minutes, after which the staff member walked away without recording my name or contact information. Fortunately, while I waited outside, the staff promptly located me, sparing me from any potential inconvenience resulting from my absence. The establishment excels in crafting exceptionally well-balanced and skillfully prepared beverages. However, the culinary offerings, while satisfactory, did not ascend to a level of extraordinary excellence commensurate with their higher price points. The Butcher's Cut steak, for example, exhibited a flavor profile akin to conventional grocery store steak cuts, lacking the distinctiveness one might anticipate. Conversely, the appetizer of wings displayed a more commendable culinary execution and was enjoyed by our party.
Apps were just OK. Oysters on a half shell were fresh but the mignonette sauce was a bit off for my taste. Tomato Tartare was too watery and lacked a binding flavor. But they totally redeemed themselves with the Tomahawk for 2 entree. Perfectly cooked to medium as requested. Nice seasoning and tasty char without the burnt taste. The sides of Mexican street corn and glazed brussel sprouts were both excellent as well. The corn is off the cob and has a sweet front flavor followed by a nice spice. The brussel sprouts glaze was perfect and the bacon chunks sent them over the top.
