I was truly impressed! It's not often that fast food manages to wow me, but this experience was a delightful surprise. I'm so glad we decided to check it out! I ordered the Bluebonnet, and it was filled to the brim with tasty ingredients. I definitely plan to return and will bring my kids next time—it’ll probably become their new favorite spot. While some may argue that it's pricey for fast food, I believe the quality and freshness of Dilla's can't be compared to the cheap, processed quesadillas available elsewhere. There's just no comparison. Two thumbs up!
**Original Review - January 2014** This new concept offers fantastic food. "Dillas," pronounced "dill-uhs," is a dream project the owner has envisioned since college about a decade ago. The name is a nod to "Napoleon Dynamite," where the main character is told by his grandmother to grab some quesadillas. The restaurant is situated in a converted Jack in the Box. You place your order and then find a seat; they call your name when your food is ready, and it typically comes out quickly. Plus, there's a drive-through for those who need to grab a Dilla on the go. All their ingredients are fresh, with no frozen items in sight. The food is outstanding, and the tortilla is freshly made, perfectly crispy. I've tried several options: the Oinker, Blue Bonnet, Black Bleu, Gordo, Lonestar, and Chicken Hatch. My favorites so far are the Oinker (pulled pork), Lonestar (brisket), and Chicken Hatch (chicken with hatch chilies). The jalapeño ranch dip is also delicious. Prices are reasonable, too. A combo meal includes a Dilla, two sides, and a drink for just $8. You can choose from three sides: fries, citrus corn salad, and fudge praline. Congratulations on turning your dream of a restaurant into a reality. Best of luck—I'll definitely be returning many times!
For me, it's hard visiting DFW and not eating at Dillas at least once during my visit. This was my first visit to this Plano location. I was headed over to the Frisco location and found this location was much closer to my hotel. After walking in, I was unenthusiastically greeted. The person behind the counter wasn't very engaging, he just stood behind the counter like a deer in headlights staring at me. It was a little awkward, but I chalked it up to just being his personality. After placing my order, I found a table and sat down. A few minutes later, my name was called. Love the speedy service! My Blue Bonnet Quesadilla was hot, delicious, and right on point. My fries were also hot and crispy. I will definitely return the next time I'm in the area. Highly Recommended!
The quesadilla didn't match the pictures at all. In fact, the outer edges were completely flat and lacked any filling. I was really disappointed. It was just an average quesadilla, while I've had much better ones at local authentic Mexican restaurants.
