Second is that when I got my food it was underwhelming, two pieces of chicken and a heaping serving of rice. Third issue is when I tried the chicken, it was overcooked leaving it dry and tough. It smell similar to fast food fried chicken. Fourth issue is that 1 of my pieces of chicken was mostly bone and barely edible. Fifth was the fact that aside from a lot of spice to cover everything up it was incredibly bland. Sixth issue is that menu prices are no longer accurate, had they been, I would have left. Seventh issue is just how much more I had to pay than I expected to for such an inexpensive meal. I payed $24 when the listed price for what I got was $15 and what I originally wanted was $12. That's $24 for 1 piece of overcooked chicken, 1 hunk of chicken bone, and a heaping of rice. I was half tempted to simply not pay as the overall experience was that bad. Do not go here. If I could get a refund, I would. I also forgot to mention how long it took for me to find out that they couldn't make my initial choice, and then how long it took for me (I was there with my friend and we were the only patrons when we entered) to get our food.
First time eating here, and I can say that, this was an amazing experience, food was fantastic, ambiance is beautiful, and service was great, definitely coming back tomorrow
This was the first Dallas African restaurant/lounge I've been to. My friend was visiting and googled places that served African food and we decided to try it. The food was AMAZING I only wish it were served warmer( but that's because I like my food extremely hot). I had drinks that were really good and we came during happy hour where they were 5 dollars. The bartender was really sweet and nice to talk to. We ordered a hookah and it was really smooth and I enjoyed it. The jollof rice was a really good portion and tasted amazing. The egusi soup was fantastic, but next time I think I will get it without the goat meat. I also wish the portion was bigger. I can't wait to come back and will definitely be back to experience what it is like at night during a busy day.
It's Saturday night and when I walked in, I was the only customer aside from the bartender and what appeared to be a manager or a family member. I ordered the chicken and jollof, but after waiting for 40 minutes with no sign of my food, I decided to leave. I hadn't eaten since before my flight, so I was feeling quite hungry and frustrated. The emptiness of the restaurant should have been a warning sign.
My experience at this restaurant was terrible. We waited for 30 minutes without anyone taking our order. On top of that, the menu they provided was different from what was listed on their website. To make matters worse, they were out of many dishes, so the only option left was chicken wings, which I can easily find elsewhere. I definitely do not recommend this place!
