Roots Chicken Shak - Plano

The service at this restaurant was initially rude, with no one at the register and employees chatting amongst themselves. After finally being acknowledged, the staff member seemed annoyed and uncommunicative, simply nodding their head and directing me to another area. Despite the poor service, I decided to stay and support the business, but was left disappointed by the food. The taste and texture of the dish were unsatisfactory, with the meat being fatty and greasy. I ended up throwing most of it away, only enjoying the bread and seasoning.

I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant, but I was disappointed. The food was just okay, nothing special. It was more expensive than other similar places like Popeyes. The sandwich I ordered was not worth $9.00. The banana pudding was average, nothing outstanding. The person making my food did not change their gloves and did not practice good hygiene when handling the food. This was a bad experience overall. The presentation of the food was decent, but it's not worth getting sick over. It's clear that the restaurant is not taking proper care of hygiene and cleanliness.

Wow! The food here is fresh, perfectly spiced, and expertly roasted! The staff was very friendly. I will definitely be coming back for a one-month midday "field trip".

I’ve had this place once and since then I crave their amazing sweet tea with mint and orange. However, the last several times I’ve tried to visit around 7pm they rudely turn away customers when Legacy Hall is still open. I’ve had this happen to me three times already and for that reason I won’t go back out of concern that I’ll be turned away again. So unfortunate! Google shows you stay open until 9pm so please document your hours more clearly if that’s not the case.

Who doesn’t like chicken wings??? I love their special duck fat chicken wings!! Combined with their special sauce which is awesome. The favors are super good and tasty!!
