But when paying O understood 9,50 € instead of 5,90 € and gave 11 euros. The friendly waitress did not correct me and decided to stay with the oversized tip. I just found out when I checked the entrance after my departure. I should've checked that too. Anyway, the café is almost 100 years old, but after The Turn it came to this place when the old building was demolished to make an ugly shopping mall.
Nice place to have a coffee and cake. They also offer breakfast menu and lunches. The best cake is their homemade plum lace.
We sat at a table on the first floor and service was friendly and fast. The food was very good, even the coffee was very nice. We sat there for about one and a half hours, enjoy every minute.
Before the war, Cafe Tromel was one of the prime social centers in Plauen, with dining, cafe, rooftop terrace, orchestra, dancing, bowling, etc. Plauen had 120K population and people from all over, including Hof, would come to Plauen and enjoy everything Cafe Tromel has to offer. As it did not fit into the "socialist picture," it was torn down after the war. After the reunification, a very small nostalgia-type cafe was opened on the Klostermarkt. The breakfast offerings are wonderful, their cakes are wonderful, and the service is good. Outdoor dining on the Klostermarkt is also available (albeit smoking is allowed outside).
The plakat at the entrance made me curious. very pleasing that here a court was taken on the daily card, which is now really not everyday. tasted fine, a good experience. here you can still feel comfortable as a hospitable.
