Azul Restaurante - Playa del Carmen

We were considering staying at the resort on our next trip and when we realized we are in the area we wanted to check out the hotel. We thought of stopping by for a lunch or a drink and Azul popped up on my google...maps. I didn’t realized it was part of all inclusive, but stuff was super great and said that it wouldn’t be a problem and we just would need to pay at the reception. Lunch was good and views are very nice. My husband went to pay our bill and I was waiting outside checking my phone. As I’m standing I was approached by a non-speaking employee, who started screaming at me and abruptly telling me to leave. I’ve tried to explain that I’m just waiting for my husband to pay, yet screaming continued. I went to the reception looking for my husband. Employee followed me inside where I asked receptionist to explain that I have no interest in the pool or staying at the property, simply waiting for them to turn the card. He seamed to settle after the explanation, but NO APOLOGY from him or receptionist. I don’t know if it’s a complete arrogance or lack of English, but this type of behavior from stuff is completely unacceptable. Needless to say we won’t be staying at Grand Velas.

We at breakfast/brunch here daily and what the offered was great! From local cuisine to traditional American breakfast. Lots of and lots of fresh produce.

Breakfast, lunch, or dinner its almost the same thing, the main courses really don't change so if you like Chicken tikka Massala or roast pork for breakfast you will love it here. You don't need a resevation so you can just show up, there was...always a seat available. The quality was good and the service OK, though they dont seem to have any spoons for the coffee cups and I had to ask two and three times for incidentals. But Its a buffet so you get what you get.

The food and the staff at Azule were amazing!!!! The fresh fruit everyday, the freshly squeezed juices, and the variety of food was fantastic.

I had lunch times and loved the wide variety of choices and all of the fresh food!the breads are amazing, the service is great and you can come in right from the pool! Nice views of the ocean and great breezes if you sit...outside.
