Klay Talay - Playa del Carmen

We have selected several items from the menu. Despite the excellent service we found the food overall the weakest of the resort. We tried the Crispy Beijing Chicken Wing, Spring Roll (veg) and Vietnamese Spring Rolls. The wings were anything but "krispy" with a muddy texture reminds of Tyson wings from your freezer section. The jumping rolls were good (Vietnamese) to excellent (veggie) sushi we had the Octopus rolls and shrimp rolls. The Octopus was delicious, but I would try the Shrimp Main course, which we Thai beef and pasta, Thai shrimp and duck. Duck was dreadfully boiled (Hammered) and fat not made (taste rubber). Beef and pasta were on average with a beautiful taste and spicy sauce. The shrimp was again a great restaurant staff! Chef may need some coaching

Loved pretty much everything we tried to try more than one thing safely

Beef w/oyster sauce and beef was extremely overcooked. The side of fried rice was cold and rice was hard. Husband ordered chicken with sweet sauce that was good. Desserts, tapioca with coconut ice cream and the coconut brûlée was nothing special. Service was best moderate... Server came to fill water glasses once again and never came to check the status of our main meal. The appetizers of spicy Thai shrimps were delicious. The atmosphere in the restaurant was fabulous.

We have sampled several elements from the menu. despite the excellent service, we found eating all the weakest of the resort. we tried the crispy peking chicken wings, jump roll (veg,) and Vietnamese spring rolls. the wings were anything but “krispy” with a muddy texture reminds of tyson wing from their freeze section. the early roll were good (vietnamese) to excellent (veggie) sushi we had the octopus roll and shrimp roll. the octopus was delicious, but I would pass the shrimp main curs we Thai bark and noodle, thai garnel and duck tried. dee was horrific meat overboiled (hammered) and fat not made (taste rubber.) bark and noodles were average with a beautiful taste and spicy sauce. the shrimp was again great restaurant staff was great! chef can need some coaching
