Anns Sunshine Cafe (oak Park Blvd)

The restaurant is in a fixed location. I went because of the star rating and I would return, but the one thing I would change is the service. It needs improvement. The server I had never checked on our table, they were just sitting and taking orders. They never came by to see if we needed anything else or if everything was okay. I really wanted another drink, but they were never around. You would think that in a smaller space, the service would be better since it's easier to see who needs something, but my experience today proved that assumption wrong. The food was great, but the service was lacking.

This is a reliable good breakfast place. the menu is traditional and quite simple with egg dishes, pancakes etc. the construction of their own omlette is mine to go (they have several types of eggs benediced that should be good, but I have never tried the sitting area in the interior is very small so I prefer to sit in the outside area. the prices are reasonable. I can definitely recommend this place!

The food is quirky, the service from the staff is welcoming, the prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous. I will definitely be returning.

I had spinach and mushroom omelet with hashed brown this morning. Neither was flavored, and I normally prefer bland food so this was definitely not seasoned I thought perhaps the cook was busy and forgot to add seasonings, so I asked a waitress, and she told me we don't season your food condiments are on the table. I find that unbelievable! What restaurant doesn't season their cooking??? If I want to season my food, why wouldn't I just cook at home? So I gave them the benefit that maybe I misunderstood and reached out to their FB site and got an unbelievably rude response. BTW, I expressed my disappointment in the written response but got no clarification that that person was merely agreeing with me and not telling me to stay away so I have every reason to believe what was said was what it sounded like we don't want your business.From Sunshine Cafe Yes you got that right . We don’t season potatoes or eggs , because some people can’t have salt. Yes I think is better if you stay home and cook for yourself. Thank you

I've frequented this diner for over 10 years. Excellent service with hearty, fresh and we'll prepared diner food. You won't be disappointed by anything on their menu!
