Pick up the cake with a fine dessert, the decoration is very rustic, with hunting trophies on the walls. It’s not my taste, but it’s good with the place: local cuisine in the heart of the brocéliande forest. in summary: an address to be recommended for those who love local cuisine.
Wow.... where to start?! we were advised this restaurant from the hotel we were staying at, and even though we were tired we still decided to go.... and thankfully I can add! the restaurant is in the middle of nowhere (by the way be careful when you drive at night as there is a lot of wild life around) and it is truly amazing. They have a pretty wide range of choice, products and home made and very fresh and the restaurant itself is very bucolic. Have fun and please try one of the menus, it is worth the money!!
Had a very pleasant dinner here in a historic room overlooking a lake. The large fireplace next to me was great. I understand this is a 600 year old establishment having once been the cookhouse for the local forge. The building oozes history and is obviously well thought of by the locals. If you wish to visit over a weekend I suggest booking in advance. It was nice to see the menu offering a relatively limited À la carte choice plus three set menus priced at Euro 35 (Menu Gourmand) or the more modest Euro 30 and Euro 25. Our food was delicious and washed down with a bottle of Graves at Euro 26. The starter was very interesting (see photo). We were attended to by the owners wife who like all the staff were thoroughly professional. Our meals comprised of cocktails then our choisc of the Euro 35 menu
We were the first guests that evening and the owner cook and the hostess came to welcome and chat with us. We talked about our visit to broceliande and how could it be otherwise the heat that day. The owner showed us the decor in the bar which was made by a local artist. Really interesting. The cook had prepared a wild boar pie which we chose as an entree. We were given two plates, the tureen and homemade pickles. The main course was scallops with a sauce of morels. In one word: delicious. Add to that the beautiful setting, the nice service and the beautiful weather... Truly one of the highlights of our trip to Brittany. Highly recommended!
The atmosphere is about a mountain restaurant. Surroundings are worth for a walk. Decoration is all about hunting. There is a fire place where meat is cooked. Staff is nice and service is good. Food, mainly game meat is very good.
