No one got the correct cut and they were tough. One person ordered shrimp Alfredo, it was cold. She sent it back and it came back colder. Bad service and terrible food, avoid this place.
After seeing the billboard off of Highway B in Plover for months, I took the opportunity to visit Smiley's for Sunday brunch. Based on the reputation that Smiley's had for BBQ and down home cooking, I was hopeful but ended up disappointed since several of the items they promoted for brunch (country fried steak, biscuits gravy, etc. weren't available. My waitress said that Smiley's brunch has scaled back significantly from what it had been. At less than $10 per person, the price was right. With good desserts, fresh omelets, and a small selection of other items, the brunch was OK, but less than I was looking for. Smileys is currently open Thursday for steaks, Friday for Fish Fry, and Sunday for Brunch. Based on the later... I won't be returning to try the former. Poor brunch aside, Smiley's looks to be an excellent banquet hall for private/special events, weddings, etc. They have a spacious banquet room and beautiful outdoor gardens.
I just had my wedding reception there. We couldn't have asked for better service if we tried. Everyone that worked there was very helpful and pleasent to be around! The food was great. One guest even mentioned the cooking that was better than Grandma's (That never happens)
Not going to return. The food was OK, although the server had to check if it was too late to get ribs and it was only 7pm. One side of the menu said mac 'n cheese was a side and the other side of the menu said there was an upcharge for it. Seemed as if it was there first day in business, but it wasn 't. Brought a bowl with about 1 cup of coleslaw for the table and there were 5 of us. Upon checking the bill, we were charged an extra $9.99 and although they removed it, we left feeling a little bit dirty and taken advantage of.
