I recently dined at this restaurant for a casual dinner and had a great experience. The appetizers I tried - Tuscan frits, roasted carrots, and focaccia - were all delicious. While their menu primarily focuses on pizzas, I was happy with the wide selection available. As a pizza lover, I thoroughly enjoyed the different varieties they offered. Additionally, they had a great selection of craft beers to choose from.
I just want to start off by saying that I really enjoy dining at Bigalora and love the staff there. However, I recently organized a happy hour/dinner for a group of 18 people and the manager at Bigalora made the experience quite challenging. We had three tables of six people (18 in total) and the manager insisted that we all pay on one bill. He refused to split the bill by table, even though our waitress (who was fantastic) was willing to do so. The manager seemed to imply that we were inconveniencing them by being there and that they weren't set up for large groups. It was almost as if he didn't want us there, even though 18 people dining and drinking would bring them more business.
Very disappointed. The fried Calamari had absolutely no taste and no color. The potato remover was just rough. We first ordered a pure cheese pizza and the Alfredo. The pizza was ok, but the Alfredo sauce was watery and literally had no taste. We had to take it back and exchange the Alfredo for the Mediterranean pizza, which had an acidic taste and smell. It's a shame because it's a beautiful location. I will certainly not return.
The restaurant is beautiful. Nice space outside to enjoy watching the park during your time there. Pizzas are delicious. The rest of their Italian foods need more taste.
