Orders included the crawfish scramble special with side of grits suggested by the server, a pulled pork n ham type sandwich for my guest, and an order of beignets. There was nothing special to mention about the special, my guest felt the same way about her sandwich. And unfortunately, the beignets were served with what appeared to be a custard in the center. The server again apologized as she immediately recognized that it was uncooked dough. ? I've had great food and service here b4...just not worth the trip today.
Excellent food, as always! We ordered the Cajun hash, avocado toast, crab cake benedict, and French dip as our entrees, but also split a baked French toast for an appetizer. The restaurant wasn’t super busy when we were there, service was prompt and polite!
First time I was there and it was enjoyable. Waitress was awesome. .
Came here on a Sunday in mid July. Surprisingly it wasn't overwhelmingly busy. They said it would be a 20-30 minute wait but the buzzer they handed us went off after 5 minutes. That was nice. We ordered the Cornflake-Crusted French Toast and a Cajun Hash. Also a Martini of some sort. All of it was delicious. I'd definitely go back. Friendly service great food. The only issue was I couldn't get their Wi-Fi password to work. But no biggie.
This review is poor due to the service, not the food or drinks. I visited there today and arrived about 40 minutes prior to closing. We were seated right away, and our waitress was pleasant at first. After she had taken our drink order, she came back and said, Do you all want to order before the kitchen closes? Umm well yes and what time does the kitchen close? We could have been told that we could seat you, but the kitchen closed at a certain time. She explained the upcharge for french toast and other substitutions when taking our orders. Anyway, the food was ordered and came out hot. The food was good and fresh. Here comes the issue.....one of my friends had the shrimp and grits, and the sauce was delicious, so I asked if I could have some of that sauce for my salmon. She brought it, and i used about 1/4 of it. When the bill came, there was a charge of 3.00 for the sauce! I explained that as a first-time visitor, nowhere on the menu, or through my server, was it communicated that there was an upcharge for that sauce. Her comment to me was well, anything that is made in the kitchen has an upcharge. Isn 't everything made in the kitchen!? Then she apologized for the confusion.. There is no confusion, no one told me there was an upcharge! And it 's not notated on the menu, so where did you get this price from! So i asked for the manager, and she just apologized for the server not telling me, but never offered to take it off my bill or adjust it since I did not eat even half of it. I was not trying to get over on them or scam for sauce. Maybe it should be added to the menu or communicated some kind of way. I just think once again as a first-time customer, this was terrible customer service and probably will not return.
