Tasted all right but salad unimaginative iceberg lettuce, tomato and cucumber. However my friends chose fish finger sandwich and salad. Their comments were 'fish fingers were cheap tasting, deep fried, dry and in VERY thick, sliced, white bread, lightly buttered with margarine '. It did not taste that good as was too dry and there was so much doughy bread they both ate it as an open sandwich. The salad, like mine, was uninteresting. If the fish fingers had been better quality and served in a freshly buttered roll, it would have been very different! Also, there were very few staff visible. The counter and display was empty of food in the restaurant, so looked uninteresting and food seemed to be being cooked by one person as and when requested. At one point I noticed a customer enter the restaurant, see there was NO ONE at the till or serving at the counter, so they turned round and walked out I don 't blame them! We three will certanly NOT be back!
Arriving in the mid afternoon, we had the luxury of choosing our seating as the lunchtime rush had passed. I ordered a pork stuffing roll from the front display, while my companion went for a fried egg bap. The food was brought to our numbered table after ordering at the counter. Both options were tasty and fresh. The staff seemed to know many of the customers, suggesting a loyal clientele. They were polite and helpful, and the tables were clean and tidy. Overall, this is a restaurant we plan on returning to next time we are in Plymouth.
I love pasties, I also love friary mill pasties. I’m a regular here and can not fault any of the staff, their customer service is always polite cheerful and overall just good. The only issue is there has been multiple times where I’ve purchased a pasty took a bite into it and there’s been nothing but a huge chunk of steak inside, I’m not talking about a little chunk I’m talking about the whole inside of the pasty is just one big ball of steak. I find it happens the most with the cocktail pasties. Not a fault of the staff but just some feedback!

It is a bustling and well-loved spot known for its delicious takeaway options including rolls, sandwiches, cakes, pastries like pasties and sausage rolls. The cafe is equally popular, offering a wide variety of items from the bakery menu as well as hearty meals and daily specials. Went into restraunt area and orderded an all daty breakfast When it arrived it was well cooked with all items cooked fresh and with toast with lashings of butter. A well presented and cooked meal which took less than 10 minutes. My wife had freshly cooked chips which were very hot.
