The staff were very pleasant and efficient. The food was good pub fare—not too fancy, but satisfying. We would definitely return!
This bar and restaurant boasts a fantastic location on the historic Barbican, overlooking the harbor. The menu and selection of beers from this St Austell Brewery-owned establishment are outstanding, making it an ideal spot for dining, drinking, or both in a welcoming atmosphere, thanks to the helpful and friendly staff. Recently, they've enhanced the outdoor seating area by enclosing the large bins, preserving the beautiful views, and adding many plant boxes along the canopied seating areas. Having lived on the Barbican for over 30 years, I can confidently say that the Ship bar and restaurant is one of the best places to visit for any occasion with friends or family in such a wonderful setting.
After a few years away, I was excited to revisit Plymouth and was warmly welcomed back at The Ship. Unsure of which hand-pulled pint to select, I was offered two samples to try. The Proper Job was fantastic and definitely deserved a good photo.
Great food. Son thoroughly enjoyed his rack of ribs so much so there was no meet left. My lamb burger was lush my husband's steak was cooked to perfection. All in all a great experience to top it off we could hear the chef's singing to FOO FIGHTERS. ....We so wanted to join in
Sensible prices. Friendly Staff. Good Location (bustling) Food: I had the Fajita stack and it was lovely! Only criticism would be that the Guacamole was clearly out if a bottle and would have made a huge difference if it had been homemade. Will visit again!
