Cabana Babele - Poiana Țapului

Babele is really a nice place to visit, when you go up on the Bucegi plateau. Everybody of us have a picture close to Babele or Sfinx, sometime in life. But now, unfortunately, we wanted to visit Babele with cable car but we were dissapointed to see the price: 70 lei per person (up down), that means for us and daughter of 15 we had to pay 210 lei...aprox. 47 euro...not to mention the prices for cable cars we took in Austria were a lot smaller than here, where is a very old equipment...so...maybe after a few years they will decide again to decrease the price and make it affordable for everyone.

Cabana is closed, tried to book and got no answer, Once there, the cabana is not in the business of sheltering travelers. It gets its money from hosting communication antennas and workers. Shame that such a jewel is let to rot and not made available to backpacking people which was the initial intent when was built.

Nothing special, just a poor remote location, but the surroundings are gorgeous. Sfinxul and Babele are nearby...

Old building, old habits. No one wants to go to 21. Century come and do something about this beautiful location.

It is a miserable place that rests in the same math from the communist era. Prices for food and beverages are extremely high compared to the quality of services. Perhaps the owner of the place wishes to pay from the tourists, also for the beautiful visit. I would not agree to pay to an dishonest trader for our wonderful nature...
