The restaurant is managed by a delightful and very accommodating woman. They have a nice variety of breads, however, there is a risk of cross-contamination as they do not have separate facilities for gluten-free and non gluten-free items. Therefore, it is not safe for individuals with celiac disease.
According to the owner, there is potential for cross contamination and nothing on the menu is safe for those with Celiac disease.
La mie bio offers a variety of gluten free, vegan, corn free, and soy free pastries and scones that are made in a separate facility. These treats are crafted with organic ingredients and contain no refined sugar. While they are displayed alongside gluten items, you can request to have them reserved before they are put out. These items are typically available fresh on Tuesday mornings. The almond danish, spinach scone, and apple turnover were all delicious. As someone with celiac disease and other intolerances, I did not experience any illness after consuming these treats. They are sweetened with agave, maple syrup, or other natural sweeteners, so I did have a mild "sugar" reaction due to my limited consumption of sweets. The owner, Lucie, is friendly and dedicated to providing healthy food options.
