Gothic, the meal of my man contained no...langoustine meat, only the empty dishes. a weight-produced 6 pieces meat that makes them think. we both had a glass of more than acceptable white house plonk. some people ice cream-based puppies looked good, but we didn't test them ourselves. as far as this is concerned, it would have been nice to have a seat instead of the naked pan, but it was at least clean. I guess this place only survives because it is on a tourist path and most people will not return.
This caffe is located on the square in front of the rathaus. on the first look it is out untidy with a lot of rubbish lying beneath the outside, so that the place looks uninviting. we stayed when we had starved and ordered the croque madame. with salat, man with chips. the sandwich came hot with an egg on the top and the chips were also hot and tasted good. the service was fast and efficient. some English that was welcome.
Good value food with reasonable choice. Pleasant location in the square, so pleanty to see whilst eating outdoors.
Tired after a long drive we unwisely selected one of the first restaurants we saw. Not enough waiting staff. Delay to be seated, delay to be given menus, delay to order, food came reasonably quickly, delay to get bill. Not yet ready for a gastronomic...experience we ordered simple burgers frites and salad. The burgers were undercooked, the frites were a little soggy and the salad was limp. That night my son was slightly unwell, possibly from the food. Overall: there seem to be much better bistros/brasseries/cafes in Poitiers.
Waited 30 mins to get some service to be told food finished 10 mins ago. Not impressed. Lovely setting but plenty more choice on the square.
