Restaurant Botanica - Pokolbin

We visited early Sunday evening before the crowds arrived with a couple of local industry recommendations. We had previously visited some of the Hunter's best. The six course signature menu with five different local wines puts Bottanica in the top ten favourite meals of my 64 years. Watch this chef (Matthew Bremerkamp). He is something special. That it coincided with our 30th wedding anniversary made it even more memorable.

Excellent vegetarian choice, the food was fresh and delicious, so full compliments to the chef! Their veg and herbs are from their own garden which was lovely.Service, I would have expected to be more attentive, knowledge of the wine list was almost non-existent, so that was a let down.Good ambience but not sure I'd spend $200 there again.

My husband and I booked this restaurant not knowing much about it. The food was yummy. My venison was fabulous. The service was amazing. We thought it was reasonably priced.
