We really enjoyed an excellent lunch at La Gourmandine. Having located it via a Google search I booked a table using their Facebook Messenger link, which was acknowledged and accepted within minutes first time I'd tried this and, with my limited knowledge of French,...much less traumatic than a phone call! I recommend pre booking as the restaurant was soon full with locals the best recommendation there is. A most enjoyable meal with great service. All tasty, local, seasonal ingredients and be sure to order their Cafe Gourmand (included the best mousse chocolate I have ever tasted! .
We visited this restaurant on 29th May and it was recommended by our host at our chambre d'hote just outside Pond Audemer. We did not book but the owner welcomed us warmly. We chose from the menu which was on a chalk board and there...was a really good choice. We had an aperitif and the owner recommended the wine which was very good. All the food was cooked to order and was excellent. The owner spoke excellent english and told us about his teachers whom he said taught him english in the old way which obviously worked very well. The owner was very attentive and very friendly which made our visit more enjoyable. We would definitely return if we were in the area again.
Our family stayed near pont audemere and looked for a place to give our two teenage boys a taste of French cuisine. this restaurant has not disappointed. our young people were taken from their food-comfort zone, but their decisions made themselves thoroughly. a menu was not extensive, but what was in the offer was fresh, subtle in taste and delicious. real cooking in a beautiful environment. the greeting was warm and friendly and service was excellent. merci beaucoup!
La gourmandine is compact and on two etagens and tends to be full regularly. it is decor and feel is modern, clean and fresh. it seems to be operated only by a handful of personal, including the owner. we were warmly welcomed and eating options were. for us personally described. service was professional, precise and friendly with all people in our group at the same time. the chef can be seen from all the tables (in the ground floor) at work in the kitchen and she makes an amazing job to perfect the presentation of the foods. the herbs are very original with all types of aromen and preparations applied to various cuts of bark, lamb and fish as well as vegetarian options. one of the best and most popular restaurants in the city we have made a good choice. moderate prices.
