Yesterday we had really excellent dourad fish, and there was a perfect filled bone square. it is true that the decoration is not like the latest hip place in london, but is nowhere in the French landscape, and its tasteful and traditional. I really recommend this restaurant I will be so disappointed by many restaurants, the “ show food”, the taste of not much, but this restaurant is really excellent and eating delicious.
We are quite late for lunch on a very hot day. only one choice left in the prix fixe menu and it was superbe! chilled melone ‘Soup’, pink duck breast and a fresh strawberry sorbet. a real tasty bite and very good value for some...proper cooking.
This restaurant is very high quality! and not very expensive, I recommend it very much, I really love it, they cannot miss it.
Our party of four thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and experience of eating here. It was great value too. All of our dishes were of a high standard, the wine reasonably priced and the waiting staff were courteous and very helpful. The cheeseboard was to...die for. It was that good that we ate there on successive nights. Highly recommended.
Consistently good french country restaurant that I have visited 20+ times over the last decade or so, and my de facto favourite in the area. The food, service and atmosphere are very high quality and the cheese board is superb! They also cook some simpler...steak and barbecue dishes over the fire 'in the chimney ' (perhaps only at lunchtime), which can be welcome if you 've had umpteen multi-course french meals recently and want something plainer.
